Perception // The guiding force of human experience // The lens through which our vision is directed.
Aspects of our perception lie solely in our physical, day-to-day experience, while others lie dormant from formative experience; sleeping leviathans awaiting a call to the surface. In this darkness, this Umbra, the shadow qualities of ourselves as well as the world around us await our noticing in obscurity.
By way of physical dichotomy, we find that there are those aspects of perspective that are diametrically opposed to this idea of shadows. For where there are shadows, there is light to cast them.
This light is the awareness we exhibit in our physical, emotional, and spiritual capacities. It pours down upon those edifices which attempt to shadow those qualities in ourselves, in the world that we yearn to perceive.
The Lunula is the ever-evolving crescent of light wherein the what-is meets the what-will-be: the crux of perception. Through the trials of life, the Lunula and the Umbra wane and wax, indicating a larger picture which we are often blind to. We are not born to live in the light or the dark but rather find a neutral point in which we can clearly see both. Through these cycles, a greater understanding of the fluctuations of self can be understood in a greater and more complete capacity.
